A group of ten found guilty of online harassment directed at Brigitte Macron

A court in Paris has ruled against ten people for perpetrating the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the wife of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced accusations of disseminating untruths regarding her sex and sexual orientation, in addition to making defamatory statements about the husband and wife's significant age difference.
The court delivered suspended prison sentences of a maximum of eight months to the defendants. The full ruling has still to be made public.
A persistent false narrative alleging that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has been in circulation since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons engaging in a legal action for defamation in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
Their complaint contends that Owens brushed aside all credible evidence disproving her claim opting to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these assertions on her digital program and social media channels, and in March 2024 stated that she would stake her entire professional reputation on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron initially encountered her future husband when she taught at his secondary school.
The pair entered into matrimony in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was in her mid-50s.
