Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning at a rapid pace. Missing star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another victory in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.

This match provided a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in match.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
